Whether it is a divorce or a COIVD diagnosis or a miscarriage, we often find ourselves at a loss for words when we're confronted with someone else's pain.
But we feel like we have to say something to "make it better".
Next thing you know, you are saying something like:
"Things are always darkest before the dawn" or
"I know just how you feel!"
Cliches, false equivalency, awkward silence...
