Don't Ignore Your Indicator Lights

On the dangers of ignoring your indicator lights...

Last week, I was in the middle lane of the highway, cruising at 75 mph, when my wheel began to shudder. I quickly changed lanes and was able to (barely) make it to a Speedway gas station.

The air pump was out of order and my spare was flat. It was a whole ordeal.

That is what you get for ignoring a light on your instrument panel. You see, I (hazily) remembered that Luke told me that there was one light that I didn't really need to worry about...and I have been ignoring the wrong light for more than a week. Hence, Thursday night adventures at the gas station.

As we head into a holiday weekend, it is a good moment to take stock of your proverbial indicator lights. What has your body been signaling to you? Here are a few signs that you don't want to miss

1). Are you quickly irritated?
2). Do you have problems sleeping (either too much or too little)?
3). Do you find yourself constantly preoccupied?
4). Do routine tasks leave you drained?

If this is the case (and it is for most of us), don't just keep powering through. Take time to rest, recharge, go for a walk and unplug. Your body (and the people you live and work with) will thank you.
